Xunzi
Xun Kuang, known as Xunzi, was born about 310 BC in the state of Zhao, late in the Warring States period. He came to study in Qi only at fifty, and three times served as libationer, the head, of the Jixia Academy, the most famous centre of learning of the age; later he became magistrate of Lanling in Chu, where he spent the rest of his life. He was the last great master of early Confucianism, gathering the achievements of the other schools while criticising their one-sidedness. Han Feizi the Legalist and Li Si, chief minister of the Qin dynasty, were both his pupils.
